Support Worker

  • As a Support Worker, you will work with individuals who require assistance with personal care and tasks that enhance their independence and quality of life. Your role will involve promoting the well-being of clients, especially those with disabilities or elderly individuals, by supporting their physical and emotional needs.

What you'll get to do...

  • Assist clients with everyday tasks, including meal preparation, medication reminders, and transportation
  • Provide emotional support and social interaction to promote mental well-being
  • Support clients with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices
  • Help clients maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Encourage clients’ independence by supporting them in household management or social activities
  • Assist clients with everyday tasks, including meal preparation, medication reminders, and transportation
  • Provide emotional support and social interaction to promote mental well-being
  • Support clients with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices
  • Help clients maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Encourage clients’ independence by supporting them in household management or social activities

Your experience should include...

  • Empathetic, friendly, and respectful demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in supporting individuals with disabilities or the elderly (preferred)
  • First aid certification (preferred, but training is provided)

You might also have...​

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An interest in attaining a community support worker Level 3 or above qualification. We can support you in achieving this while you work.
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health issues, and/or behaviors that can be challenging is desirable but not necessary.
  • Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people.
  • A full New Zealand driver’s license.
  • The ability to pass an NZ police check.
  • Competency in using a computer, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email.
